Cassandra “Cassie” Freeman has made her mark in everything from drama to laugh-out-loud comedy across film, television, and the stage. She can currently be seen in the ABC drama For Life alongside Nicholas Pinnock. She stars as Veronica Marshall, a lawyer who takes on a controversial case defending the police in murdering an unarmed Black man.
Freeman has been seen in popular hits like Marvel’s Luke Cage and Donald Glover’s Atlanta, and is perhaps best known for her roles in Spike Lee’s Inside Man with Denzel Washington and Chris Rock’s I Think I Love My Wife. In 2018 she appeared in the critically acclaimed Sundance indie film Monsters and Men. In 2013, Freeman starred opposite Isaiah Washington in the film Blue Caprice. Some of her additional popular television credits include The Last O.G., The Enemy Within alongside Morris Chestnut, and Queen Latifa’s Single Ladies. In theater, she appeared Off-Broadway in August Wilson’s Seven Guitars, directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson. Originally from Florida, Freeman currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.
